"Majima-san! Thank god you're back." Youda looks up from polishing glasses at the bar when his business partner waltzes in the door.
"Yeah? Been a tough crowd the past couple'a days, Youda-chan?"
"That's one way to put it. A guest came through the night before last, uh ..." Youda leans in close, even with the club empty as it is, he reduces his voice to a low whisper, "I think he was yakuza."
Majima gives a barking laugh, hiding his own sudden discomfort. "That so?"
Youda frowns at having his concern dismissed, pressing the issue with further details: "Yeah. He had one of those lapel pins. Said he was looking to meet you, Majima-san."
"Wasn't an older guy, was he? Gray hair?"
"No. Maybe middle-aged? Wore an ugly magenta suit. Didn't give a name. Strange guy. Ai worked with him. She said he really creeped her out." Youda picks up another glass and twists a towel around it distractedly.
Majima drums his fingers on the bar for a moment, then abruptly slaps his palm against the wood before walking to the other end of the club. "I'll keep an eye out for 'im. Don't worry yourself about it, Youda-chan."
He pulls off his jacket and drapes it over the back of a booth. "Oi, by the way, Harley-chan's droppin' by in a bit. Gettin' her special silk stuff installed today."

"Hi Youda-san. Goro-san!" She waves at both of them.
Harley sets up the ladder by the stage. And sets out her toolbox.

Majima walks over to greet her, the corner of his mouth twitching up into a lopsided smile. His eye completes a rather leisurely journey over her choice of attire. "Yer really makin' me feel over-dressed here, Harley-chan."
He reaches for the ladder and tool box, ferrying them over to the stage. "This everything? If we come up short, I can send Youda-chan out for any extra hardware."
no subject
"It should be. I have a stud finder, a rig point, A-frames, eyebolts, and some weights to test the strength of the silks to make sure they are secure."
"Are you going to be my handy helper," She puts a little extra flirting into those last two words, smiling at him.
no subject
He rolls his shirtsleeves up to his elbows.
"I'll make up for it by bein' yer helper, but be careful -- that stud finder's gonna be goin' off non-stop 'round me." As soon as the words escape his mouth, he groans at his own awful joke. "Sorry. That was real bad."
no subject
And up the ladder she goes. So he will have to stare up at her, in those tight jean shorts, since he agreed to help her.
"Let's start with that stud finder shall we. Put it to work first."
no subject
"Ya sure ya don't want me up there riskin' life and limb?" This is mostly a bid to preserve his masculinity. He hasn't lifted many tools in his life, and those that he did were only used as blunt weapons.
no subject
"Honey, if you were up here... you would not know what to do. How to attach the rig point. Or secure the A frames. And I would just end up directing you from the ground."
"Trust me... that would be worse for you." Because the last thing she wants is people thinking that she gets to 'boss' him around.
"Plus.... if I fall, I am going to need someone big and strong to catch me." There, does that help his masculinity?
no subject
"And natch, catch you if you fall. We wanna avoid payin' out worker's comp."
After a moment, he prompts her impatiently: "Any studs hidin' up there? Whaddaya need next?"
no subject
"Yes. Two good strong ones. I will need two A frames. And then two rig points."
Harley hums as she works. "And then the drill."
With his help, it won't take her long to set up a rig point on the left side of the stage. And delicately, Harley comes down the ladder. "Now, my big strong man..." She runs his hand up his chest. "Let's get set up on the other side."
no subject
He can totally understand how she gets guests eating out of her hand. He laughs. "That's the first time I've heard that. Always been somethin' of a beanpole."
He carries the ladder and toolbox over to the other side of the stage, now familiar enough with the process to help speed things along. Each tool will be ready at hand when she needs it.
Youda finally feels like enough of an awkward third wheel to excuse himself. "Going to go stock up on a few things and pick up dry cleaning, Majima-san! I'll be back later!"
no subject
Now that he has the tools ready before she asks for them, the right side of the stage is easier to complete.
"Time for the weights. You can remove the ladder." The four weights, one for each silk (two on each side) are heavy, but Harley has no problems lifting them. Or securing them at the end of each aerial silk, to make sure that the attachment will carry the weight.
It does. She claps her hands.
And then laughs when Youda leaves. "Guess that means you get a private show of your very own, Goro."
no subject
He steps over to his jacket to retrieve a cigarette and light up before he perches on the edge of the stage.
"Judgin' by that video ya showed me, might be too much for me," he laughs.
no subject
"I trust your judgement Goro." She smiles.
Keeping in mind that there is a time difference between her world and his, Harley had prepared a very classic routine. It will showcase her flexibility and her agility. But at the same time, still features her sexuality. All in all, it is a very entertaining performance to watch.
no subject
He gives her a round of enthusiastic applause. "Damn, that was somethin' else. I mean ... wow. Yer really uh, flexible."
Flexible? Real smooth.
"You get the green light. The Sunshine stamp of approval."
no subject
She twirls down from the aerial silk, and lands herself in a seated position right beside him. "Good."
Harley leans her head against his shoulder. "I feel so free, when I am up there. Like I could achieve anything."
no subject
He sighs and accepts Harley's weight on his shoulder. "Even if I ain't 'livin'' like we were talkin' about, at least other folks have a place to do their livin'."
no subject
She is quiet for a moment when he speaks about them not living like the way they were talking about.
"We could live a little, Goro."
no subject
"Mmm?" Majima cocks his head to look at her. "What're you proposin'? You wanna go lay into some more goons?"
no subject
"Are there others causing us trouble, Goro?" She runs her free hand through his hair. A little amused that is where his mind went.
no subject
"Nah. Nothin' to worry about," he lies through a reassuring smile. "Just the usual street thugs stirrin' up trouble."
no subject
Because that just might break her heart a little.
"If I can't...." She stops herself from ending that sentence.
And quickly focuses herself again. "I am here to help. How can I help, if I don't know what is going on?"
no subject
no subject
She nudges him just a little, so he looks in her direction again. "So what can we do right now?"
no subject
He leans in conspiratorially. "I kinda wanna try my hand at doin' that. I mean, it can't be that hard, right?"
no subject
"Let's find out..." She stands and offers her hand to his.
"I will stay close on the secondary silk. Start by climbing up."
